Showa Optical Co., Ltd. has developed and launched lead-free medical radiation protection glasses "for® X-GUARD BieW" through industry-academia collaboration with Tokuyama Corporation and Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine, utilizing Choetsu Technology.
By utilizing the MTG coat with Choetsu Technology®, we succeeded in developing lightweight, environmentally friendly glasses frames that do not use lead, while protecting the eyes from scattered rays. Furthermore, by combining these glasses frames with the newly developed lead-free acrylic lenses by Tokuyama, we have completed environmentally friendly radiation protection glasses that do not use any lead.
